Thank you for visiting the new Information Technology Classroom in New Zealand. It features, iPads, Laptops and technology that a lot of people would just have desired within their youth. This classroom, with a concentrate on familiarising students with commercial products, results in a gap between those who are able to afford, and those who cannot.
In an article released by the Nz Herald, Journalist Lynley Bilby examines the classroom of haves and have-nots. In the recent interview with teachers and parent from Marshall Lang Primary school in Mt Roskill, it is increasingly apparent that - those days are gone of pen and pencil; now, teachers want to newer, faster, better, more costly technologies as a means to aid in their teaching, with this, we view an upswing from the iPad in decile-six schools across Auckland.
In line with the Nz Herald (June, 2013) Many with the country's schools have switched to e-learning, often thanks to wealthy benefactors, but many classrooms still depend on shared classroom computers or ICT suites
